    In-state Addresses- Theory on TTM

So we all know that getting an athlete to open the letter is half the battle- that's why when we send 8x10s or jerseys or ROMLBs or whatever they are more likely to be returned- because the Athlete is probably curious to see what's in it.

So by the same logic- I got to thinking. I have gotten 4/5 Yogi Berra successes while others are like 0/5. I got to thinking why. How's this for a theory:

I live within an hour or so of Yogi's house, i.e. somewhere where he could plausibly be getting personal mail from that is not autograph-related like business mail or a bill or whatever. That might make him more apt to open it than a letter from Portland OR or San Francisco CA or something, somewhere too far for such mail. And then once he opens it then he just says "Oh well whatever." and signs it.

Anyone think this theory holds any water? That in-state or nearby addys are better?

Sorry bud, but I'm not seeing it. He gets so much, I'm sure he just assumes it's all fan mail.

The only player that I KNOW does that is Robin Yount, so it's possible. With Yogi though I just don't see it.

IDK there might be something here. I have only had one "failure" with Yogi c/o home and thats something that I just haven't gotten returned so who knows where it is. Meanwhile I have banked 4 or 5 free successes with my NY addy while others consistently strike out. Maybe I've just been really fortunate though...

Definatelty agree! I sent an email to the head coach at UD asking for a signed 8x10 of him and a week later a signed 16x20 of the top players (pat devlin being one of them) so I def. think your theory holds water

Not to get off topic, but I just received an autographed HOF postcard from Yogi in the mail today. I am almost certain it is ghost signed. Not to get everyone up in arms, as maybe some are coming back real, but this one just looked a bit off to me. So I pulled up some examples from Yogi's website, and lo and behold, the 'B' in Berra is different. Just take a look and you will see what I mean. Yogi has one of the most consistent autos over the past 20 + years, so I don't see him changing it at this point. The authentic 'B' starts at the bottom and loops over in one single stroke. The one I received today does not look like that at all. Look at some of the recent examples in the TTM Manager like RockieFans success from April 2011. Maybe I wrong, but worth the discussion....
